"Fair Trade" means that the artisans receive a living wage for themselves, and that Catholic Relief Services is on the ground, assisting the artisans, their families and their communities to work themselves up and out of poverty.
We have found the craft items to be of high quality at an affordable price: this is a win-win situation for all.
To order Fair Trade craft items any time, year round: www.crsfairtrade.org
To buy Fair Trade tea, coffee and chocolate, all you have to do is shop at local grocery stores; look for the Fair Trade logo on the package. Many brands of coffee and tea have a Fair Trade version (Folgers, Starbucks, etc).
The mission of the St. Michael Parish Social Concerns Ministry is to (1) promote the Social Teachings of the Catholic Church, (2) advertise volunteer opportunities for service to the poor and vulnerable, and (3) act on current issues of justice and peace.
